To add, time flies during Ramadan like no other time.
Done with half of the month already, and what have we got?
The excitement, at the sighting of the moon which heralded the start of the month, has somewhat been lost as we reach closer to a full moon. The novelty of fasting, waking up at Sehri, saying Tahajjud, preparing Iftar–all of them have fallen neatly into the cracks of what fill up the spaces which our daily habits inhabit. Taraweeh, by now is almost lost on most, with the 3 days, 6 days and 10 days Taraweeh already over; practicing endurance isn’t easy, specially during Ramadan.
You might start thinking of the time during the rest of the year, when you do ‘normal’ things, when ‘you can do what you want’. The human mind is that fantastic thing; it works in such absurd, mysterious, awe-inducing ways. It will tell you to do what you want, and then maybe you’ll do it, maybe you won’t. Depending on what you do, your mind will tell you something more, and then some more if you’re willing to listen to it. That’s how the human mind plays God.
A good sign that you’re supposed to refresh your batteries and go after the rest of the month with renewed energy. Just pull in a deep breath and…
